MANY FRIENDS ATTEND FUNERAL OF WM. ARNDT

On Monday our community was greatly shocked to hear of the sudden death of a long time resident of Plymouth county, Wm. Arndt.

Mr. Arndt was born in Jenasea, Ill., on the 1st day of February 1867. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Arndt.

In early infancy he was baptized in the Lutheran church and after due instruction was also confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

His confirmation took place on the 22nd of February 1880 in Poweshiek county, Iowa, to which place his parents had moved a few years before. Mr. Arndt also had one brother and two sisters who preceded him in death.

On April 11, 1888, he was united in marriage in Crawford county, Ia. This union was blessed with tend children all of whom survive.

In 1913 the Arndt family moved to Plymouth county, at first residence northwest of Leeds and in 1916 they chose Hungerford township for their home where the deceased lived until the time of his sudden death, with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Hahn. His wife was taken from his side only a few months ago.

The cause of death was a stroke of apoplexy.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his four sons, Lewis, of Dalton, Nebr.; Albert, of Lawton; John, of Leeds; Henry, of Hinton; his six daughters, Mrs. Ida Lueth, of Moville; Mrs. Emma Rath, of Denison; Mrs. Tilly Early, of Hinton; Mrs. Emilia Hahn, of Hinton; Mrs. Ella Harrison, of Hinton; Mrs. Rosina Krause, of Hinton. There are also 21 grandchildren and a large number of relatives and friends.

Mr. Arndt attained the age of 66 years, 8 months and 1 day.

Funeral services were held from the home in Hungerford township.
