Note: He was born in Le Mars, Plymouth County, Iowa and his mothers maiden name is Cordes and his wife's maiden name is Bickford. Gravestone lists his birth as 1877.

Nicholas Furchner

Funeral services for building contractor and carpenter, Nicholas Furchner were held today in the Ross-Burke Company.

Furchner died in a Reno hospital Saturday. An Iowa native, he was born Feb. 28, 1877.

Furchner constructed buildings in Montana, Washington and Nevada. He was a member of the Carpenters Local No. 971 and the Woodman of the World.

Survivors include his widow, Sylvia; two daughters, Mrs. Sybil Abbot and Mrs. Robert Fuss, both of Reno; two sons, Donald and T. A. Furchner, both of Reno; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Riter of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mrs. Lou Coleman of Hartley, Iowa; and six grandchildren.
