Life's EndWILLIAM G. HAWKINS EXPIRES AT HOSPITAL--
FUNERAL TUESDAY FOR ELGIN TWP. FARMERWilliam George Hawkins, 83, longtime Elgin township resident and retired farmer, died Saturday at Sacred heart hospital after several months of illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian church, with Rev. James Ransom officiating. Burial will be in the Seney cemetery under direction of Mauer's funeral home.
Mr. Hawkins was born July 23, 1880, in Ontario, Canada, a son of Richard and Jane Moir Hawkins. At the age of nine he came to Elgin township, whre he had resided since.
His marriage to Eliza Wray McKee took place Sept. 5, 1905, at Kittanning, Pa. She survives, as do two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Jessie) Frank of Nevada, Calif., and Mrs. Albert (Martha) Lamm of Wazata, Minn., and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Mr. Hawkins was active in church and community affairs as a young man. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church in LeMars.
