Life's EndRITES HELD MONDAY FOR WM. REES SR.--
LIFELONG RESIDENT OF PLYMOUTH COUNTYFuneral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Methodist church for William Rees Sr., 80, of 415 1st Ave. SW. Rev. Milo Morris officiated.
Burial was in LeMars Memorial cemetery under direction of Mauer's funeral home.
Mr. Rees died Friday, Sept. 20, at Sacred Heart hospital where he had been a patient six days. He had been ill a week.
Mr. Rees was born Nov. 2, 1882, near Oyens, and was a lifelong Plymouth county resident. He farmed in Elgin township until retiring to LeMars in 1938. Mr. Rees had been active in community affairs, and was a member of the Seney Methodist church.
His marriage to Mathilda Detloff took place Feb. 19, 1906, near LeMars. She died in 1948. Also preceding him in death were his parents, Edward and Ann Bound Rees, three brothers and a sister.
Surviving are six children, Miss Lila and Orval of LeMars, Harold of Mountain Lake, Minn., Melvin of Luverne, Minn., Wallace of Rochester, N. Y., and Mrs. John (Cleone) Dunne of Grove City, Minn.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
