MRS. TEREZIE STECHER DEAD AT AGE 93 – BURIED IN LIBERTY TWP.

Mrs. Terezie (known as Lizzie) Mary Stecher, 93, who made her home with a granddaughter, Mrs. Amanda Abeel, Sioux City, died Saturday night at a hospital.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson-Berger funeral home in Morningside. Burial is Liberty township cemetery, Plymouth County.

Mrs. Stecher was born Feb. 2, 1866 at Yevisovioick, Czechoslovakia. She came to the United States in 1895 (sic – actually in Nov 1886.) She was married to James Luksan in 1897 (sic –married in April 1888) in Plymouth county. They farmed in Plymouth county until his death in 1912, when she moved to Sioux City. She was married to Joseph Went (marriage date= 13 Aug 1914 in Sioux City, IA). He died in 1925, in Sioux City. She was married to Joseph Stecher in 1929 at St. Joseph, Mo. Mr. Stecher died Dec. 20, 1957.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Charles Closner of Sioux City, six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
