Joseph E. Dalton, 83, of Akron, died Friday, April 5, 1984, at an Akron hospital.

Services were Monday, April 9, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Akron. The Rev. Stanley Stone officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Hawarden under the direction of Schroeder Funeral Home of Akron.

Mr. Dalton was born June 3, 1900, at Hawarden. He married Dorothy Benjamin Nov. 19, 1929, at Elk Point, S.D. They lived in Akron since 1934. He was a retired implement and feed corn dealer.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, John C. of Reno, Nev., and Thomas J. of Sausalito, Calif.; one daughter, Claire D. Gosly, of Burlingame, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Roland (Isabelle) Mauer of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and four grandchildren.
