TED TORGERSON
T. O. (Ted) Torgerson, 65, director of the Libertyville Alcoholic Treatment Center near Merrill, was dead on arrival late Tuesday morning at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.
Death was attributed to a heart ailment. He was making a lecture to patients at Libertyville when he collapsed.
Nelson-Berger Funeral Home in Sioux City is in charge of arrangements. Funeral details were pending when this issue of the Sioux Center News went to press.
Mr. Torgerson had devoted the last 12 years of his life to helping alcoholics. He had been an acute alcoholic prior to joining AA and at one time had not been expected to live due to complications resulting from drinking.
He is survived by two sons, Harry, a Sioux Falls trucker and Ted Jr. Sioux Falls; and one daughter, Clara Lou Schmidt, Sioux City.
Taking over as director at Libertyville will be Paul Welsch, Sioux City, Torgerson’s assistant counselor.
