Resident of City Five Years Succumbs on Thursday

Mr. James W. Mockler, 80, died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. Earl Rice Thursday evening.

Mr. Mockler was born in Lorimor, Iowa, in 1858 and passed most of his life farming in this state. His wife preceded him in death in 1915. Mr. Mockler came to Iowa City to live with his daughter five years ago.

He is survived by his daughter; four sons, W. F. Mockler of Racine, Wis. E. A. Mockler of Kingsley, Iowa, Rev. M. M. Mockler of Redwood Falls, N. D., and James A. Mockler of Emmett, Idaho; one sister, Mrs. Nettie Armentrout of Irwin, Iowa; one brother, M. E. Mockler of Tipton.

Funeral services will be held in Kingsley probably tomorrow afternoon with burial also to be in Kingsley. The remains will be sent to Kingsley tonight by the Oathout funeral home.

IRWIN, Ia.—James Mockler, 80, a former resident of Jefferson township, died suddenly Thursday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Pearl Rice, at Iowa City, Ia.

He is survived by two daughters Mrs. Marion Armentrout of Irwin and Mrs. Pearl Rice of Iowa City, Ia., and three sons, Ed of Kingsley, Ia.; James of Racine, Wis., and the Rev. Merriott Mockler of Redwood Falls, Minn.

Funeral services for James Mockler of Iowa City, long time resident of Elkhorn township and father of Ed Mockler of Kingsley, were held from the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Henry Wingert officiating. Interment was made in the Kingsley cemetery.
