J. A. Gilmer Passes Away
Resident Here For Twenty-Five Years

J. A. Gilmer, 63, resident of LeMars the past twenty-fine years, passed away at his home, 627 Sixth street SW., Wednesday evening, July 29, following an illness of three weeks.
John Allen Gilmer was born at Odebolt, Sac county, Iowa, October 23, 1878, where he spent his boyhood days, and later moved to Ireton where he farmed until about twenty-five years ago when he moved to LeMars. While living in LeMars he conducted oil stations and worked at other occupations. Mr. Gilmer was a good citizen and well liked in the community.
He was united in marriage with Elma Barkley at Fort Dodge.
He is survived by his wife, a son, Allen Bobbie, three brothers, Ira W. Gilmer of Brighton, Cal., Lewis E. Gilmer of Minneapolis, Minn., James E. Gilmer of Council Bluffs, and two sisters, Mrs. Effie Jensen of Harrisburg, Oregon, and Mrs. Anna Lamb of Fort Lupton, Colo.
The funeral will be held at the Luken funeral home Saturday afternoon at 12 o’clock. Rev. T. C. Seibert, pastor of the Plymouth Presbyterian church, will officiate at the service and interment will be made in the city cemetery.
