Mrs. Louise Wessels

Mrs. Louise Wessels, 75, died Saturday at St. Francis hospital, Breckenridge, Minn.

Mrs. Louise Caroline Wessels was born and raised on her parents farm near Le Mars. She was baptized and confirmed at the Grant township Lutheran church near Struble.

Her marriage to Karl Wessels took place Dec. 14, 1917, at Le Mars. They farmed near Le Mars for many years and Mr. Wessels died in November 1940.

In 1944 Mrs. Wessels and her children moved to Doran, Minn., and in 1949 they moved to Wahpeton, N.D. A few years later she moved to Breckenridge where she since lived.

Mrs. Wessels was a member of the Breckenridge Lutheran church and was engaged in the church circle work. She also participated in the Breckenridge senior citizens activities. While living in Wahpeton, she worked for the state school of science for seven years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Breckenridge Lutheran church with Rev. Reuen D. Mellum officiating. Burial was in Grant township cemetery near Le Mars.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Frieda) Nyhof, Dwight, N.D.; four sons, Alfred and Herbert of Breckenridge; George Wessels, Audubon, and Lorenz Wessels of Willmar; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Also, four sisters, Mrs. Henry (Marie) Buchholz, Phoenix; Mrs. Dick (Anna) Jensen, Hawarden; Mrs. Jergen (Katie) Harms, Ireton, and Mrs. George (Clara) Noble, Pipestone, and two brothers, Fred Beitelspacher, Rockwell City and Henry Beitelspacher, Struble.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl in November 1940; two daughters, Alma and Lorraine; a son, Ernest; two brothers, Oscar and Johnny, and four sisters, Caroline, Rose, Kati and Eureka.
