James W. Smith, 50, 507 W. First street, died Thursday night in Omaha after an illness of three days. He had resided here most of his life.

Mr. Smith was born February 15, 1896, in Sioux City.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Minda Smith of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Rosalie Clinton of Utah and Miss Betty Smith in Montana; a brother, John Smith of Sioux City and two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Frei and Mrs. Martha Kesler, both of Sioux City.

The funeral will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday in Anderson's chapel. Rev. Robert Zimer will officiate. Internment will be in the township cemetery near Kingsley.
