Mrs. Dick Janssen
Mrs. Dick (Anna) Janssen, 81, of Hawarden died Tuesday, August 30, 1983, in a hospital in Hawarden.
Services were at 10 a.m., Friday in the American Lutheran Church in Hawarden. The Rev Robert Hansen officiated. Burial was in the Grant Township cemetery under direction of Dow Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Dennis Moller, Randall Moller, Paul Janssen, Gary Jansen, Ronald Janssen and Todd Hughes.
Mrs. Janssen, the former Anna Beitelspacher, was born January 30, 1902 in Le Mars.
She married Dick Janssen, January 12, 1922, in Grant Township. They farmed in the Ireton area, moving to Hawarden in 1964. He died July 16, 1980.
She was a member of the American Lutheran Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Velma) Moller of Alcester, S.D.; five sons, Lester and Kenneth, both of Hawarden, Walter of Mission Hills, CA., Melvin of Rock Rapids and Harold of Ireton; two sisters, Mrs. Jurgen (Katie) Harms of Ireton and Mrs. Marie Buckholz of Phoenix, AZ; one brother, Henry of Brunsville; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
