**Research on this woman & her family reveals that she was called "Minda." Her given name has been found written as Martha Arminda.**

MRS. MARTHA SMITH BURIED HERE
Mrs. Martha Amanda Smith, age 82, an early day resident of Kingsley and a resident of Sioux City since 1927, died at her home Tuesday of last week after an illness of several months. Mrs. Smith was born July 7th, 1868, at Fayetteville, Tennessee. The family lived in Kingsley several years before moving to Sioux City.

Funeral services were held at the Anderson funeral home and at the Sioux City Gospel Tabernacle, Friday with Rev. Miller in charge. Burial was in the Elkhorn township cemetery northwest of Kingsley.

Survivors include a son, John N. of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Kesler, of Sioux City and Mrs. Katherine Frei, of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Sara Haney, of Sioux City.

NOTE: Calculated date of death (per this obituary) was Tuesday, May 22, 1951.
Additional research also indicates that her maiden name was Reynolds. On a marriage record for Minda & her 2nd husband named Chas. Swearigen, Minda's father is documented as Eliza J. Reynolds & her mother as Louise Haney.
