John Hoyt, northwest of town, left Saturday for Wilton, Connecticut in response to a telegram announcing the death of his father, Andrew Hoyt, at that place on January 9, 1909.
Deceased was one of the pioneer settlers of Sioux Valley township, Union county, S. D. and was held in highest respect. He went back to the New England home to reside a year ago, having property interests there and there he will be laid to rest. He attained the ripe age of seventy years and had been ill for some time prior to his death.
The children surviving in this locality are Mrs. Frank Wakeman , Mrs. T. C. Squires, John C. and Miss Charlotte Hoyt all of whom have the sympathy of the community.
His life was filled with usefulness and good deeds.
