Julius Gries Services Held Here Friday
Funeral services for Julius Gries, 69, a Kingsley farmer, who passed away Tuesday, March 8, as the result of. a heart attack was held Friday at 2 p. m. at the Methodist Church here.
Rev. Everett Major officiated and burial was made in the Kingsley cemetery with the Dickison Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Ellen Hauck and Mrs. Lester Montange, accompanied by Mrs. Ray Hess at the organ, sang '"Die Old Rugged Cross " and "Beyond the Sunset."
Pallbearers were Reed Richardson, Weston Richardson, Lester Montange, Laverne Montange, Wm. Clausen and Albert Bottjen.
Mr. Gries had doctored for a heart condition for some time, but his death was sudden and unexpected and came as a shock to the community.
Obituary
Mr. Gries was born April 18. 1890, in Ida County, Iowa. Before moving to the Kingsley vicinity twenty-nine years ago, he resided at Galva and Holstein. He married Bertha Jetter of Ida Grove, January 14, 1914. For the past ten years, he had also worked as a carpenter in this are the area.
Survivors are the widow: four sons. Ernest of Sioux City. Harry of Westfield, Rudy at home and Lee of Oelwein; a daughter, Mrs. Luella Wilson of Duncombe; four brothers, John and Otto, both of Holstein, Edward of Larrabee e and William of Portland, Oregon; four sisters, Mrs. Louise Gebers, Mrs. Agnes Doehla, Mrs. Dora Rasche, all of Holstein, and Mrs. Helen Boock of Arthur, 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
