DIES IN HIS HOME
OLD RESIDENT FOUND DEAD IN HIS HOME
RESIDENT HERE THIRTY-SIX YEARS

Ludwig Danne Was a Native of Germany and Came to America When a Young Man and Engaged Successfully in Farming

Ludwig Danne, a resident of Plymouth county for thirty-six years, died very suddenly at his residence, 1214 Clark Street, this city, on Wednesday afternoon aged 74 years. Mr. Danne lived alone for the past few years, preferring that mode of life, although offered homes by his sons and daughter. He had been ailing slightly of late, during the winter but nothing unusual for a man of his age.

A neighbor, J. W. Feuerhelm, was visiting with him, on Wednesday morning and found Mr. Danne in fair health and in excellent spirits. In the afternoon, another neighbor, A. Kemnitz, dropped into the Danne home to deliver some milk and found that Mr. Danne was dead. He had apparently expired peacefully while reading in his armchair. The body was conveyed to the Beely undertaking rooms. Death was due to heart trouble and complications.

Mr. Danne settled in Stanton township thirty-six years ago and was a successful farmer. He and his wife retired from the farm about fifteen years ago and came to Le Mars to make their home. Mrs. Danne died on March 10, 1915.

Ludwig Danne was a native of Germany and was born on January 13, seventy-four years ago. He grew up there and was united in marriage with Amelia Martz. They came from Germany to Le Mars and with the exception of four years, when they farmed in Nebraska, lived in Plymouth county ever since. Mr. Danne leaves three sons, and three daughters, who are Charles Danne, of Plymouth township, Gustave, and William, of Stanton township, Mrs. George W. Burleigh, of Gordon, Neb., Mrs. Kalas, wife of Rev. Henry Kalas, of Defiance, Iowa and Mrs. William Kemnitz, of Stanton township. There are eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He also leaves one; sister, Mrs. August Fischer, of Mars.

Mr. Danne was a good citizen and successful farmer, a fine neighbor and was highly esteemed In the community. He was a member of the Methodist church for many years. The funeral will be held at St. Paul's Methodist church in this city at two o'clock this afternoon. The sons and sons-in-law of the deceased will act as pallbearers.
