Akron Tribune, Akron, Plymouth, Iowa Thursday, February 25, 1897

Adolph Thiel, who lived on the P. Calhain farm, four miles southeast of town, died last Monday of pneumonia and was buried Tuesday from the German Lutheran church. He was respected as a citizen and leaves a considerable family. His wife is confined to her bed with the same disease that been husband's death. Five children, the oldest a girl not more than twelve years or age, compose the balance of the family; but an addition can be looked for in a few weeks if the mother survives. It is a case that called for the immediate and compassionate aid of neighbors and such public help as is demanded.
