FORMER AKRON MAN DIES SUDDENLY IN CALIFORNIA
Adolph Thiel Succumbs To Heart Attack On January 2nd
Friends in this vicinity were sorry to hear of the death of Adolph Thiel, 56, a former resident of Akron, Iowa, who passed away January 2, 1946, in his home at 2416 Twenty-ninth street, Santa Monica, Calif., following a brief illness from a heart attack on December 14, 1945, at Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica, where he was employed as machinist first class.
Mr. Thiel was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and Shortly afterward came with his parents to LeMars, Iowa. He resided in Akron and immediate vicinity until September 1917, when he enlisted in the 346th Field Artillery in World War I, serving in the campaigns in France and Germany. Returning to Akron upon his release from the army in 1921, he farmed here with his brother until he was married in 1935 to Mrs. Delia Warren. They resided in the immediate vicinity until moving to California in 1941.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Della Thiel, of Santa Monica, and three step-children, Ralph, Floyd and Della Warren, all formerly of Akron and four sisters and four brothers, also residents of Akron and vicinity. Their many friends offer sympathy in their bereavement.
Rev. Troeger, of the German Lutheran church, conducted the funeral service, at the Little Chapel of the Down, in Santa Monica, and. interment was in Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, Calif.
