Mrs. Herman Clasen, 85
widow of longtime
jeweler, dies at hospital

Mrs. Herman Clasen, 85, lifelong Le Mars resident, died Sunday, (Feb. 17, 1974) at Floyd Valley hospital after an illness of two days. She suffered a stroke Friday.

She was the wife of former longtime Le Mars jeweler, Herman Clasen, who died in May 1963.

Pearl D. Diediker, the daughter of Samuel and Ada Peacock Diediker was born April 7, 1888, on a farm near Le Mars. Her marriage took place June 18, 1915, in Le Mars. She was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ, Le Mars.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ with Rev. Ralph Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home in Le Mars.

Survivors are two sons, Stanly M. Clasen, Washington, D.C., and James Robert Clasen, Le Mars and two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Eleanor) Page, Huntington Beach, Calif., and Dorothy Clasen, Washington, D.C.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Diediker.
