James Dwight Hebeler

James Dwight Hebeler, 86, a former Akron resident, died Nov. 15, 1989, at Truth or Consequences, N.M. after a long illness.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p..m. Saturday in Schroeder funeral home in Akron. Rev. Allen Bidne officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, Carol Harris, pianist, played “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beyond the Sunset.”

Casket bearers were Jerry Abraham, Gilbert Kjos, Robert Hebeler, Willia Koontz, Dean Hebeler, Raymond Rowlet.

Mr. Hebeler was born Sept. 2, 1903 at Welton, Iowa to John and Edith Healless Hebeler. He lived in the Akron, Kingsley, Sargeant Bluff and Elk Point areas before retiring 20 years ago to Truth or Consequences, N.M.

Mr. Hebeler is survived by a sister, Mrs. Gilbert (Dorothy) Kjos of Sioux City and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ray, Dewey and Ralph; and two sisters, May Rowlet and Doris Koontz.
