Mrs. Reuben Buchmann
CHATSWORTH, Iowa –Mrs. Reuben Buchmann, 80, of Chatsworth died Monday in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Chatsworth. The Rev. Marvin Mueller and the Rev. George Dahl will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. in Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.
Mrs. Buchmann, the former Elfreda L. Werning, was born Sept. 25, 1906, in Clayton, S.D.
She married Reuben Buchmann March 2, 1930, in Clayton. The couple lived for many years in Clayton and Chatsworth in 1972. He died in 1975. He had been living with a daughter in Sioux City the last five years.
Mrs. Buchmann was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Peter (Lydia) Anderson of Hawarden and Mrs. Marvin (Esther) Mullinex and Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Wood, both of Sioux City; a son, Harold of Vermillion, S.D.; two sisters, Mary Guericke of Parkston, S.D., and Emma Harnisch of Wall, S..D., seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
