Bruce R. Barr, 75, 3700 Floyd Blvd., died Tuesday at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, Iowa. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Friday, with the family present, at the funeral home.

Bruce R. Barr

Bruce R. Barr, 75, 3700 Floyd Blvd., died Tuesday, May 18, 1993, at Sioux City hospital after a one-year illness.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Rev. A.T. Washington officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Akron, Iowa. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today, with the family present, at the funeral home.

Mr. Barr was born Jan. 29, 1918, in Akron, the son of Grant and Laura (Jalanes) Barr. He married Lois L. Small Aug. 7, 1938, in Elk Point, S.D. He moved from Akron to Evanston, Ill., and lived there for 43 years, moving to Sioux City in 1982. He was employed by New Britton Machine Co., a division of the Litton Co., for 43 years. He was a sales engineer for 22 years and retired in 1982.

Mr. Barr was a Protestant. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Lt. Col. Roger B. Barr of Willow Grove, Pa.; a granddaughter, Barbara J. Barr of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and a brother and his wife, A.D. and Mary Barr of Kenosha, Wis.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Velton, Garvis and Charles; and two sisters, Leonide Murray and Zephrine Lupi.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Kerry Small, Shawn Small, Charles H. Johnson III, Andrew Johnson, Donald W. Small and Gary Greiner.
