Mrs. Meta Manz

Mrs. Meta Catherine Manz passed away at her home in Merrill on Thursday morning, following a lingering sickness of seven months.

Meta Catherine Ehrck was born August 18, 1880, at the Dalles, Ore., the daughter of Charles and Ida (Peterson) Ehrck. She was 72 years, 4 months and 14 days of age.

She came to Iowa with her parents when a girl and lived in Washington twp. North of Merrill until 1936 when she moved to her present home in Merrill. She was united in marriage to William Manz at the home of her parent in Washington Twp. On February 21, 1900. Mr. Manz preceded her in death many years ago.

She is survived by three daughters; Mrs. Edna Kehrberg, Mrs. Hilda Jans, and Miss Pearl Manz and two grandchildren, Carol and Stephen Jans, besides a number of other relatives and many friends.

Mrs. Manz was a member of the Methodist church, the Woman’s Society of Christian Service and The Tuesday Club.

Her funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and at 2:00 from the Methodist church. Rev. E. E. Streyffeler assisted by Rev. John Howdeshell of Sioux City conducted the services. The Mauer Funeral Home were in charge.
