Roxanne E. Ahlrich, 51, of Le Mars passed away suddenly at her home on Friday, March 3, 2006.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the Reverend Dan Gerrietts of Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township, rural Le Mar officiating. Inurnment will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Immediately following the services Tuesday evening there will be a time of fellowship with the family in the Carlsen Fellowship Center. Visitations will be after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon with the family present to greet friends after 6:00 p.m.

Roxanne Elaine Ahrendt was born April 25, 1954, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Carl G. and Kathryn (Marienau) Ahrendt. Roxanne was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. She began her education in Struble, Iowa and from the 6th grade until graduation in Le Mars. She graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1972. Roxanne was united in marriage to Rick Ahlrich in September of 1971. Roxanne had worked at the Brentwood Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Le Mars before moving to Phoenix, Arizona where she had attended business school. She had lived in Idaho, Springfield, Missouri, and California before returning back to Le Mars in 1990. She loved living in the southwest states. In Le Mars she and her son, Troy operated Ahlrich Concrete and Masonry for several years. She also operated Enhance Landscape and Design in Le Mars. Roxanne loved to work outdoors. She enjoyed traveling, movies, reading and writing. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her children: Troy Ahlrich of Le Mars and Cori Ahlrich of Le Mars; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Norm Lang of Le Mars; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl G. and Kathryn (Marienau) Ahrendt, and a brother Marlowe Ahrendt who passed away on February 6, 2004.
