LONG ILLNESS IS FATAL TO FORMER AKRON RESIDENT

Rites Held Monday At Elk Point For Wm. A. McConahie

William A. McConahie, 81, of Elk Point, formerly of Akron vicinity, died last Friday in a Yankton hospital after a long illness.

Born at Wichita, Kan., July 3, 1879, he married Maude Greenstreet at Belfore, Kan., Dec. 25, 1900. They moved to Sioux City in 1917, and farmed west of Akron in Union County until moving to Elk Point in 1941.

Mr. McConahie was a member of the Elk Point Methodist Church and the I.O.O.F. Lodge and Truth Rebekah Lodge for 55 years.

Survivors include the widow; two sons Lester of Yreka, Cal; and Arthur of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Keller of Garden City, Kan., and Mrs. Jennie Keller, residing in California; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at Anderson Funeral Home in Elk Point, Rev. Robert Kiser f the Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery Sioux City, with members of the I.O.O.F. conducting graveside rites.
