DEATH OF MRS. GEO. HOFFMAN

Another of several deaths in the Hoffman family of this vicinity during the past year occurred Saturday morning, December 24, 1927, when Mrs. George Hoffman passed away after a brief illness of scarlet fever at their home southwest of Akron, at the age of 24 years, 5 months, and 27 days.

Clara Ella McConahie, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. McConahie, was born June 27, 1903, at Belpre, Kansas, and resided there until the age of two and one-half years, when she moved with her parents to Wichita, Kansas, and resided there until June, 1917, when they moved to Akron, Iowa. She was united in marriage with George Hoffman on September 16, 1920, at Elk Point, S.D., and they have since lived in the vicinity of Akron.

She leaves to mourn her untimely departure her husband, George Hoffman, and four children, Mildred, Frankie, George Junior, and Baby Lester, nine days old; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. McConahie, and one brother, Arthur McConahie, all of this vicinity.

She was a member of the Methodist Church and a firm believer in the Methodist Church and a firm believer in the Blessed Savior who has called her home. She was a much-loved and devoted wife and mother, a valued friend and neighbor. The sincere sympathy of the community goes out to the husband, children, parents, and brother in their bereavement.

Funeral services were conducted at the grave by Rev. E.C. Davis on Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
