Hubert Kemp

Funeral services for Hubert (Bert) Kemp, 80, well known retired farmer who died Saturday at the Sacred Heart Hospital after a long sickness, will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Le Mars.

RI. Rev. Msgr. J. D. Fisch will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Le Mars under direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home.

Six grandsons will be pallbearers. They are: Raphael Koopman, LeRoy Kellen, Gordon Holzman, Mark Kemp, Larry Ruhland and Robert Kellen.

Mr. Kemp was born September 11, 1876, on a farm near Le Mars. He married Margaret Mois October 18, 1899, at Le Mars. His parents were the late Mathias and Josephine Kemp.

Survivors are two sons, Joe and Al, both of Le Mars; six daughters, Mrs. Emil Koopman, Mrs. Frank Holzman, Mrs. Frances Kellen, and Mrs. Ben Ruhland all of Le Mars; Mrs. Wendell Phillips of Remsen; and Mrs. Arnold Scharrer of Seattle; five sisters, Mrs. George Lucy of Carroll; Mrs. Isadore Lieb of Zimmerman, Minn.; Mrs. Tom Trautt of Minneapolis; Mrs. Margaret Goetzinger of Oyens, Ia.; and Miss Ann Kemp of Glendale.

He was preceded in death by a son, Laurence: a sister, Mrs. Nick Reistoffer; two brothers, Joe J. and Peter Kemp. He was a member of Holy Name Society.
