Fay E. Chambers

Fay E. Chambers, 72, of rural Holstein, and formerly of Akron, Iowa, died unexpectedly on Friday, October 16, 1998, at his residence.

Services were held Monday, October 19, at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron with Reverend Marion Sindt officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were his family and friends.

Mr. Chambers was born on May 24, 1926, in Akron, Iowa, the son of Sarah and Willie Chambers. He attended grade school and high school in Akron graduating in 1943.

Mr. Chambers was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed gardening and raising exotic birds.

Survivors include a special friend, Mary Ann Goettsch of Holstein, Iowa; one sister, Lavina Lewison of Akron, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clarence; and one sister, Mildred Anderson.
