Last Rites For Salem Resident To Be Thursday

SALEM – A Requiem Mass for Mrs. Frank Deters, 65, of Salem will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Thursday at 10 a.m. Mrs. Deters died Jan. 5 at a Sioux Falls hospital, where she had been a patient since Dec. 28. She had been ill several years.

The Rev. P. C. Conway will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kinzley Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at the Funeral Home Wednesday at 8:15 p.m.

The deceased was born at Le Mars, Ia., No. 29, 1893, and was married to Frank Deters Feb. 19, 1915. They came to Salem in 1920 and farmed until Mr. Deter’s death in 1938. Since that time, Mrs. Deters had lived in Salem.

Survivors are four sons, Joseph of Sioux Falls, Al, Francis and Ralph and one daughter, Miss Rose Mary Deters of Salem, one sister, Mrs. Leo Dreckman and one brother, Frank Holzman both of Le Mars, Ia., and 15 grandchildren.
