Beresford – Funeral services for Lowell Jurgensen will be 10:30 A.M. Tues., Oct. 4, 2005, at Beresford Zion United Methodist Church, Beresford. Visitation will be Monday from 2 PM to 8 PM with family present from 6 PM to 7:30 PM, and a prayer service at 7 PM at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford.

Lowell Russell Jurgensen, a longtime resident of Beresford, SD, was born November 11, 1921, in Akron, IA to parents Andrew L and Anna Sophie (Martsfield) Jurgensen. He died Sept. 30, 2005 in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 19 days.

Lowell was raised and educated in Akron, IA. He married Corine E. Hamerly on Jun 17, 1945, in Beresford. Lowell spent his working career in and around the Beresford area. He was a member of Beresford Zion United Methodist Church, the Barbershop Harmony Society, and the Elks. Lowell enjoyed all kinds of music and sang for many years in the Tri Valley Barbershop Chorus and in the church choir.

He is survived by his wife, Corine Jurgensen; one son, Steven L. Jurgensen and his wife, Kay, of Beresford; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Arval and Orlin; three sisters, Lavina, Ellen and Janiece; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Francis; and two sons, Russell V. and David C. Jurgesen.

Lowell will be buried beside his sons at the Beresford City Cemetery.
