William T. Carel Lifelong Resident Of County Died Nov. 9

William T. Carel, who farmed in Union Township 30 years before moving to Le Mars five years ago, died Saturday in Sacred Heart Hospital after two months illness.

William Carel was born March 3, 1886, in Lincoln Township, the son of M. and Mrs. James Carel, and spent his entire life in Plymouth County. On January 19, 1921, he was married in St. James Catholic Church, Le Mars to Nellie Geary, who survives him with the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. George Sitzman, Kingsley; Mrs. Will Sullivan, Le Mars; Mrs. Ed Sitzman, Hinton; Mrs. Harold Carr, Alexandria La.; Mrs. Lee Davis, Albuquerque, N. M.; James Carel, Hinton and Bernard Carel, Le Mars. He is also survived by 40 nieces and nephews and 19 grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mrs. John O’Brien.

Funeral services will be held at St. James Catholic Church Le Mars, at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22, with Father L. J. LaVelle master of ceremonies. Father Carel , a nephew, will be celebrant Father Kooker deacon and Father Nepple sub deacon. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Lincoln Township Cemetery.

The remains were taken to his home Monday afternoon where a Parish Vigil was held at 7 p.m., and the C.D. of A. will say the Rosary at 8:30 p.m. Arrangements are by the Wiltgen’s Funeral Home.
