Death of Miss Carel

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Carel, residing on Washington Street, are called upon to mourn the loss of their eldest daughter, Frances Anna, who died on Tuesday afternoon after a very brief illness. Miss Carel was taken sick on Wednesday of last week while attending to her work at the high school where she was a pupil in the preparatory class. Her illness developed into a violent attack of appendicitis. She was progressing favorable to all appearances, although seriously ill, until Monday, when a turn for the worse ensued, and on Tuesday morning her case was pronounced hopeless by the attending physicians and she sank rapidly passing away about two o’clock in the afternoon.

The blow is a terrible one to the bereaved parents and to her younger brother and sister.

Frances Anna Carel was born in Lincoln Township on April 9, 1887, and lived her short life on the farm and in this city, the family moving here a few years ago.

Miss Carel was just budding into beautiful young womanhood, and was the idol of her parents. She was gifted with a sweet disposition, being kind and gentle in her ways, and a dutiful daughter, and loving sister. Her early death is sincerely regretted by her many young friends.

The funeral was held yesterday morning at St. James Church. Rev. Father O’Farrell officiating and the remains taken to the Catholic cemetery in Lincoln and laid to rest beside those of a baby sister who died some years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Carel have the sympathy of many friends in the great sorrow which now abounds their lives .
