W. Floyd Tresler

W. Floyd Tresler, 64, of Akron, died Sunday, February 28, 1999, at a Sioux City Hospital unexpectedly.

Services were held Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron with Rev. Allen Bidne, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Schroeder Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Bob Pies, Pat Toben, Gerald Dykstra, Gordy Schoellerman, Darcy Fletcher, and Kenny Waag.

Mr. Tresler was born on February 19, 1935, in Plymouth County, Iowa, the son of Ira and Minnie Gertrude (Ahrens) Tresler. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran Church of Akron. He graduated from Elk Point High School in 1953.

He worked as a farmhand and salvage operator for many years. Prior to entering the Akron Care Center, Mr. Tresler had lived in Plymouth County, Union County, and Alcester, S. D. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Akron.

Survivors include several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Walter.
