DIED

Mrs. Ira J. Tresler passed away at her home in Union County, S. D., on Thursday evening January 30, 1919, at 9:45 o’clock, at the age of 22 years and 5 months.

Hazel Edith Miller was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Miller. She was born in Polk County, Iowa, near Des Moines, August 31, 1896. At an early age she moved with her parents to Akron, Iowa, where she grew to young womanhood, and was united in marriage with Ira J. Tresler on November 30, 1916. Their early home-making began on a far in Union County, S. D., and their union was blessed with one daughter, little Ruth Mae, who preceded her mother last September at the tender age of nine months.

On January 18th she became ill with influenza, which developed into pneumonia. She had nearly recovered and was almost able to be up, but suffered a relapse, from which she never recovered. All that medical aid and loving care could do was unavailing and on Thursday evening her soul departed for the Great Beyond. She was a kind and loving wife and good neighbor, who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves to mourn her untimely taking away her husband, Ira Tresler; her parents Mr. and Mrs. James M. Miller, and four sisters and two brothers—Iva, Clara, Berniece, Burrell, Harvey and James—all of Akron vicinity, and a host of friends and other relatives.

The funeral was held Saturday at the family home in Union County, S. D., conducted by Mr. R. D. McCance, of the Christian church. She was laid to rest by the side of her daughter in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery.

Relatives attending the funeral from a distance were: Mrs. Viola Barette, of Stickney, S.D.; Walter Tresler, of Harrisburg, S.D., and Mrs. Thomas Delaney, of Vermillion S. D.
