ESTEEMED AKRON CITIZEN IS CALLED TO FINAL REWARD

W. H. Keane Came to Wisconsin in 1858 — Lived Here Since 1909

W. H. Keane, a well known resident of this city, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 21, 1931, after a brief illness from causes incident to advanced age. He had enjoyed good health throughout his life and at the close he peacefully slept away.

William Henry Keane was born in County Limerick, Ireland, on January 1, 1847, and would have attained his eighty-fifth birthday the first of next January. When he was two years of age he came with his parents to the United States, locating at Syracuse,New York. In 1858 the family came west to Iowa county, Wisconsin. He was united in marriage with Mary Jane Hodges at Highland, Wis., in 1869, and seven children came to bless their union. Mr. Keane and family came to Sioux City, Iowa, in 1890, where Mrs. Keane passed away sixteen years ago. He has been a resident of Akron since 1909 and for a number of years past has made a home with his son, Willard, and family. Mr. Keane was always a public spirited citizen, taking a great interest in world and national events and particularly of political affairs. A man of congenial nature, he made many friends, who held him in high esteem.

Left to mourn the loss of a kind and devoted father are three sons and two daughters: C. J. Keane, Mrs. Hannah Gordon and Mrs. Laura Tage, of Sioux City, la.; Stephen E. Keane, of Aberdeen, S. D., and Willard F. Keane, of Akron, la.; also by one sister, Mrs. Mary K. Walsh, of Spokane,
Wash., and a number of grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday morning in St. Patrick's Catholic church, this city, conducted by Rev.Fr. J. A. Roder. Interment was in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Sioux City, beside his wife.

Keane, John Keane, Merriam and Lois Keane, Mrs. Hannah Gordon and Eugene, George, Edmund and Lucile Gordon, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schneiders, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gordon, Mrs. Margaret.Gordon. Mr.and Mrs. Al. Doherty, Mr. and . Mrs.James Brennan, Misses Mabel and Marguerite Corrigan, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Calligan, Mrs. Fred Schroeder, Miss Lottie Schroeder and David Murphey, all of Sioux City; Stephen E. Keane of Aberdeen. S. D.
