Note: His mother's maiden name is Mahaney and his wife's maiden name is Abbott. He married Serena Mae Abbott in 1910.

Joseph Kain, Former LeMars Resident Died In Sioux City, March 10

Joseph Kain, until recently a Le Mars resident, died Wednesday at his home in Sioux City, when he moved six years ago. Previously his entire life had been spent in Plymouth County. He was a son of Thomas and Anna Kain, pioneer residents of this county.

Survivors include one son, Joseph of Richmond, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Parker, Mrs. Ruth Rehan and Mrs. Drothy Brouillette, al of Sioux City; two brothers, Frank and Edward both of Akron; a sister, Mrs. L. N. Bamberg of Columbus, Neb., and seven grandchildren.

Joseph Kain, 68, who was born in Johnson Township and lived there until 1942, died in Sioux City on March 10th. His mother, Mrs. Anna Kain, and uncle, James Kain, and her family lived in Merrill a number of years ago.

He leaves on son and three daughters, also his brothers, Frank and Edward and sister, Mrs. L. N. Bamberg of Columbus, Neb., and seven grandchildren.

Rev. Zeno Reising conducted the funeral services last Saturday at the St. Joseph’s Church at Ellendale and burial was in the Catholic cemetery north of Ellendale.
