Akron barber James E. Trautt, dies at 94
James Edward Trautt, 94, Akron, died January 21, 1977, in the Akron Nursing Home of a brief illness.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick Catholic Church. The Rev. Stanley R. Stone officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Schroeder Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Tim Blum, Paul Skelton, Stanley Bay, Rick Moon, Conrad Heider and Ed Utech.
Mr. Trautt was born September 18, 1882, at Cascade, Iowa to James E. Trautt, Sr., and Marcella Burnight Trautt. He married Anna Gleason Oct. 6, 1909 at Akron. He was a barber in Akron 60 years until his retirement in December 1971. Mrs. Trautt died in 1971.
He was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Akron, and a 50 year member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Marie) Heider of Sioux City, and Mrs. Francis (Gertrude) Blum of Westfield; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and two sisters Mrs. Frances Strbehm of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Anna Mohrman of Alta, Iowa.
Mr. Trautt was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna, two sons, one daughter, four brothers, and one sister.
