Note: His mother's maiden name is Sheridan. Gravestone has year of birth 1864.

The joy of Christmas week was turned to gloom and sadness in the homes of Mrs. M. A. Agnes, Mrs. T. J. Redmond, Miss Maggie and P. H. Dunn by a message received Saturday evening from a government official at San Francisco, stating that their brother, John Dun, had died on board a U. S. man-of-war enroute to that part from the Philippines Islands.

There were no further particulars, but later word advises that the ship bearing his remains arrived at San Francisco today (Thursday).

The body will be forwarded from there to Akron for burial here beside his mother.

Mr. Dunn had been in the United States customs service in the Philippines for the past seventeen years, or practically ever since this country took control of the Islands. He was enoute to Akron for a holiday visit with relatives when stricken on board the ship on Pacific Ocean. The community tenders its deep sympathy to the sorrowing sisters and brother.
