James L. Redmond, 74, Sioux City, died Sunday (Dec. 6, 1987) in a Sioux City care center after a brief illness.

Services were held at noon Wednesday in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Sioux City. The Rev. Jerome Cosgrove officiated. Burial was in Calvary cemetery in Sioux City under direction of the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Redmond was born March 16, 1913 in Akron, Iowa. He married Rachael Lamoureux Jan. 14, 1934, in Akron. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1937. He entered the grocery business in 1937 and formerly owned and operated Mid City IGA Grocery until his retirement in 1975.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Michael, James, Thomas, and Richard, all of Sioux City, and Maurice of South Sioux City; four daughters, Mary Ann Audino and Patricia Nelson both of Santee, Calif.; 31 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
