DIED
Mrs. John Burnight, of Chatsworth, Ia., passed away in St. Joseph’s hospital, Sioux City, last Friday, August 22, 1913, at 11:30 a. m., following an operation for appendicitis, aged 45 years, 4 months, and 20 days.
Marcella Hopkins was born April 2, 1868, in Longford County, Ireland, and came to this country when a girl. She resided in Plymouth County, Iowa, most of the time, where she married John Burnight about twenty-eight years ago.
Her husband died nearly seven years ago. There were six children born to them—William, George, Lizzie, Charles, Joel, Henry—all of whom reside in this vicinity. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. H. B. Dalgliesh, of Chatsworth.
Mrs. Burnight was a quiet and unassuming woman, but she possessed a kind, helpful and generous nature that endeared her to all who were favored by her acquaintance, and by all of whom she is sincerely mourned.
The children and other near relatives have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.
The funeral was held Monday forenoon in the Church of St. Patrick, in this city, Father D. K. Hurley officiating. Many friends attended to pay a last tribute of respect. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery here, beside her husband.
