Note: The wife’s obituary says they were married January 13, 1870, which makes more sense if they sailed to America that same year.

William Richardson, for many years a highly respected resident of this vicinity, died at his home at Coquille, (Ko-keel), Oregon, March 8, 1923.
The deceased was born near Langworthy, in Cumberland County, England, July 9, 1841, where he grew to manhood, and where, on July 13, 1870 he was united in marriage to Mary Robinson, and on February 11 of the same year they sailed for America. On arriving in this country they located near Galena, Ill., and resided for three years then moving to Scales Mound, Wis., residing there until October, 1880, when they came to Plymouth County, locating on their farm west of Kingsley, where they lived for thirty-one years.
On March, 1911 he purchased a home in Kingsley, and left the farm and came to town where he resided until July 3, 1913, when he moved with his wife to Fargo, Oregon. On August 12, 1916, his wife passed to her reward.
In March, 1918, he moved to Coquille, Ore., where on November 11 of that year he was united in marriage to Mrs. Viola Collamore, of Portland, who tenderly cared for him during his illness and death.
He departed this life at him home in Coquille, March 8, 1923, being 81 years and 9 months old.
When a young man he was ordained a minister, and held an Exhorters Certificate for many years.
He was a charter member of the Pleasant Grove United Brethren church west of Kingsley, and preached in early days in a school house near Moville, and also in Quorn.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Mrs. Annie Larson, Sioux City, Mrs. Minnie Antrim, Canton, S. D., and Mrs. Ellie May, of Remsen. He also leaves ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The remains were brought to Kingsley where the funeral services were conducted by Rev. Emerson, of the United Brethren Church, at the U. B. church; after which they were laid to rest in the Kingsley cemetery.
