Wm. Hamann Died At Merrill Home

Old Resident Of That Community

Wm. Hamann, long time resident of Merrill vicinity, died Tuesday, December 9, at his home in Merrill of the infirmities of old age, aged 85 years, 4 months and 2 days. He had been in poor health for years and grew worse about two weeks before his death.

Wm. Hamann was born in Macholburg, Germany, June 7, 1862, and came to this country in 1883, locating in Merrill vicinity where he farmed until he moved to that town 30 years ago. On December 17, 1893, he was married in LeMars to Bertha Minnie Peters, who survives him. Three sons born, of this union preceded their father in death. Emil, Addis and a son who died in infancy. The survivors are the widow, four grandchildren, William, Duane, and Fred of LeMars and Mrs. Viola Braakman of Sioux Center and three great grandchildren.

Funeral service were held at the Lutheran church in Merrill at 1:30 p. m., Thursday with Hev. E. Jacobs officiating and burial was in the Johnson township cemetery. Tine pall bearers were Jake and John Lehmann, Frank Rath, Carl Johnson, Elmer Brown, and Thos. Bogner
