LAST RITES ARE HELD SUNDAY FO MRS. H. MILBRODT

Esteemed Woman Was Lifelong Resident of Preston Township

Mrs. Herman Milbrodt passed away a the Akron Hospital, Wednesday morning, March 31, 1937, at 1 o’clock, following the birth of a baby daughter. Her age was 45 years, 8 months, and 26 days.

Meta Augusta Frerichs was born in Preston Township, Plymouth County, Iowa, July 5, 1891, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Frerichs, pioneer settlers of Preston Township and the youngest of thirteen children. She was baptized August 2, 1891, in the Grant township Lutheran church and confirmed April 16, 1905, in the Preston township church. She was united in marriage with Herman Milbrodt on January 31, 1912, and they have since continued to reside on a far in Preston Township, rearing a large family of children.

Mrs. Milbrodt was a splendid homemaker, a kind and devoted wife and mother, a helpful neighbor and highly esteemed by many friends for her excellent qualities. She will be greatly missed in the community in which she has resided so many years.

Left to mourn her untimely departure, besides her husband, are nine sons and six daughters—Henry, Clarence, Fred, Herman, Ruth, William, George, Dorothy, Vera, Robert, Bernard, Louise, Arthur, Edith and Baby Meta Augusta.

Five children preceded her in death.

There are also four brothers and two sisters, Carl, Dick, Rick and Henry Frerichs, and Mrs. Lizzie Nannen, all of Preston Township, and Mrs. Dick Kruse, of Washington Township, this county, and many other relatives.

It was previously announced that the funeral would be held Saturday afternoon in Preston Lutheran Church, but the services were postponed until Sunday afternoon to enable a son, Fred, to arrive from Nez Perces, Idaho, in time to attend the rites. Rev. Theo. Meyer, the pastor, conducted the services Sunday, at the family home, seven miles northeast of town, and at 2 o’clock in the Preston Township Lutheran church, with a large attendance of relatives and friends. The six eldest sons acted as pallbearers. Interment was in the Preston Township cemetery.
