LAST RITES HELD ON SATURDAY FOR AKRON RESIDENT

Mrs. Stella Claassen Dies March 28 After A Long Illness

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon of last week at Wesley Methodist Church for Mrs. Stella Claassen, who passed away at the Akron Hospital on Thursday, March 28, following a long illness.

Stella Willer, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Willer, was born August 10, 1917, at Akron and grew to young womanhood in this vicinity. On November 3, 1945, she was united in marriage with Gerhard ("Ole") Claassen and they resided at Fairview, S. D., for fourteen years. Mr. Claassen passed away in 1961, afterr which Stella returned to Akron and made her home here until her death.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Willer, five sisters, Mrs. Vera McMahon and Mrs. Darrell Caskey, of Westfield, Mrs. John Diirks, of Hawarden, Mrs. John Hamman, of Nevato, Calif., Mrs. Arvin Watters, of Ocheyedan, Ia., and one brother Dwain Willer of Akron.

Rev. Edward mans officiated at the funeral services. Vocal selection "The Prayer Perfect" was sung by her niece, Mrs. Herbert Van Kley with Mrs. Orin Harris as organist. Casket bearers were Harold Jammerthal, Fay Smith, Ralph Latham, Paul Bay, Clifford Lamoureux and Darrell Palmer. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
