Mrs. Leonard Lamoureux

Mrs. Leonard Lamoureux, 76, Akron, died Wednesday (Nov. 16, 1983) in a Sioux City hospital of an apparent heart attack.

Services were held at 10:30 am Saturday, Nov. 19 in the Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron. The Rev. Benard Nelson officiated. Sheila Coyle, soloist sang (In the Garden” and "How Great Thou Art". Organist was Carole Manley.

Burial was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery at Craig, under the direction of the Schroeder funeral home in Akron. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Mark Ronsiek, Bruce VandeGarde, Russell Horstman, Ronnie Koch, Rodney Koch, Tim Coyle, Collin Coyle, Patrick Coyle, Ted Lamoureux, Tim Lamoureux and Dana Coyle.

Mrs. Lamoureux, the former Mathilda Popken, was born June 20, 1907 to Fred and Driedricka Johnson Popken at rural Akron. She married John Henry Luschen Jan. 7, 1925 in Preston township, rural Akron. Mr. Luschen died in 1948. She married Leonard Lamoureux Nov. 21,1964 at Akron. She had lived in Craig, Ireton and Le Mars areas before moving to Akron in 1964. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church and the LCW.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard of Akron; three daughters, Mrs. Norman (Colleen) Ronsiek of Chandler, Ariz., Mrs. Glenn (Normaleen) VandeGarde of Kadoka, S.D. and Mrs. Cornelius (Imagene) VanOosbree of Hometown, 111.; three stepdaughters, Jody Bengston of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Rich (Barbara) Coyle of Akron and Mrs. Polly Pinkston of South Sioux City; two stepsons, Ted Lamoureux, South Sioux City and Jack Lamoureux of Wayzata, Minn.; four brothers, George of Wilmington, Del., Fred of rural Ireton, Elmer of Hudson, S.D., and William of LeMars; two sisters, Mrs. Teresa Rohlfs of Randolph, Neb. and Mrs. Katherine Bloomquist of Magnet, Neb.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren and 24 step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, a grandson, Bradley VanOosbreee, three brothers, Dick, Otto and John and three sisters, Lizzie Rohlfs, Marie Dirks and Freida Gillam
