Vernon J. Kjose
Vernon Jules Kjose, 62, Akron, died Monday (April 21, 1986) in the Akron city hospital of a long illness.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Brule Creek Lutheran Church, rural Elk Point. The Rev. Marvin Ketterling officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Schroeder funeral home of Akron. Mark Quam, vocalist sant "The Old Rugged Cross,", and "In The Garden," accompanied bby Mary Abraha, organist.
Casketbearers were Rich Kneif, Delmar Stene, Elton Shedd Burdette Hansen, Pete Petersen, Eldon Seely.
Mr. Kjose was born June 19, 1923, to Marti and Eva Nielsen Kjoe near Akron, He married Audrey Kulvik Sept. 5, 1944, at Elk Point, S.D. They farmed north of Spink, S.D. for one year and moved to a farm northwest of Akron where he farmed for 41 years until his retirement.
Mr. Kjose was confirmed at Brue Creek Lutheran church and was a lifelong member of the church. He served on the church board for two years.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey; four daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Maxine) Siemers of Elk Point, Mrs. Karlene Steen and Selene Kjose, both of Akron, and Mrs. Ronald (Marcelene) Hoffman of Westfield; a son, Randall of Akron; a brother, Arden of Elk Point; and 14 grandchildren.
He was precceded in deathby his parents.
