Last Rites held Sunday For Former Akron Resident

Mrs. Emma Kjose, 84, of Akron, died Thursday, September 10, 1953, at the Betesda home for aged at Beresford, S.D.

Mrs. Kjose was born June 15, 1869 at Thellemarken, Norway. She came to this country in 1885, and was married to Ed Kjose November 19, 1892, in Sioux City. They farmed in Union county, S.D., many years and later moved to Akron. Mr. Kjose died in 1934.

Survivors include a son, Clarence, of Alcester, S.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Grace Satter,, of Elk Point, S.D., and Mrs. Edna Anderson, of Akron; a sister, Mrs. Anna Halvorson, of Elk Point; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Norman Nelson, of Beresford, officiated assisted by Rev. David Roy, of Akron. Pallbearers were George Halvorson, Olof Kjose, Julius Kjose, Alfed Kjose, Gilbert Kjose, and Amos Kjose. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
