LONG ILLNESS PRECEDED END. MRS. AUGUST HEIGNER HAD SUFFERED FROM SEVERE MALADY PAST FEW YEARS. Mrs. Heigner, wife of August Heigner, died at her home, 521 West Seventh street SW., Tuesday morning at four o’clock. The deceased had been in poor health the past eight years and during the last two or three years underwent eight operations for serious internal ailments.
Mrs. Heigner was 51 years of age on April 2 last and was born at Eckenford, Holstein, Germany, her maiden name being Agnes Marquarason [Marquardsen?]. She came to America when a girl and was united in marriage 35 years ago to August Heigner, the wedding taking place in Remsen. A few years after their marriage they came to Le Mars which has been their home since. Mr. Heigner having been employed with the Plymouth Milling company for over twenty years.
Mrs. Heigner leaves to mourn her death her husband, August Heigner, and five children, who are Mrs. Geo. Hayes and Mrs. Wm. Wilmoth, of Sioux City, and Frank, Jules and Lena living at home. Several children preceded the mother in death.
The funeral services were held yesterday at the Wiltgen undertaking parlors and interment made in the city cemetery. Rev. J. W. Case of the First Baptist church, conducted the services. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, June 19, 1925, page 8, column 3.
