Mrs. Herman Utech Died Thursday In Sioux City Hospital

Mrs. Bertha E. Utech died in a Sioux City hospital Thursday, October 20, after several years of ill health.

Bertha Utech was born Sept. 20, 1867, in Pomeroy, Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Piepenburg. She came to United States April 27, 1889, and came directly to Plymouth county, where she lived until 1941, when she moved to Sioux City. She was married to Herman C. Utech December 20, 1889, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are three children: Mrs. Elizabeth Buss and George W. Utech of LeMars and Miss Elsie Utech of Sioux City. A sister, Mrs. Amelia Falk of LeMars also survives her. She had six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held.Sunday, October 23, at the Mauer funeral home with Rev. H. V. Bartz of the Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the LeMars city cemetery.
