Funeral Services Held This Morning for Former Westfield Man
John J. Mansfield, 86, 1320 W. Second street, Sioux City, died in a hospital Tuesday afternoon after a brief sickness.
A retired farmer from Westfield, Iowa, Mr. Mansfield was born at Galena, Illinois, September 3, 1860. Since the death of his wife in 1935 he had made, his home with a son, Leo, at the W. Second street address. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Survivors besides the son Leo, include a daughter, Mrs. Lewis Beaulieu of Merrill, two brothers, Herbert and M. T. Mansfield, both of Sioux City, two sisters, Mrs. D. O. Bogenrief of Merrill, and Mrs. D. Arioso of LeMars, 14 grandchildren and & great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface church with Rev. Frederick beck officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.
The rosary was said at 8 o’clock Wednesday night at the O’Toole-Gunn funeral home where the body remained until time of the services.
